IHRS Info COVID; New regulations in Switzerland

The good news first; the quarantine list for people coming to Switzerland became very short.

  • France (few regions)

On the other side Switzerland is struggling with a lot of cases, although the amount of the tests is 10 times higher than in spring. The Swiss government threatens with a second lockdown. For the moment it is decided on a cantonal level. Geneva starts a lockdown on November 2nd, the canton Jura closes restaurants and bars for 2 weeks.

In whole Switzerland there are following rules:

  • Fairs and exhibitions are not allowed
  • No events with more than 50 people
  • No sport or cultural activities with more than 15 people
  • Higher education institutes must do online teaching

Home Office is recommended, but employers still can decide about. If they request employees in the office, they have to provide enough space, or all have to wear masks.
