Certificate of Coverage (CoC)

During a posting to Switzerland, the home company abroad requests a certificate of coverage for social security (A1, CoC) for the posted employee. With this certificate of coverage (A1, CoC), the employee can prove to the Swiss authorities that the social security law of his country of residence applies to him during his assignment in Switzerland. The CoC thus certifies that the employee is exempt from social security payments in Switzerland. During the stay in Switzerland, contributions will continue to be made to the social security institutions in the home country.  The employee must carry the original with him.
