Every foreign worker in Switzerland has to have an adequate Swiss salary

Switzerland has a so-called Expatriation law (Entsendgesetz, EntsG): which states in Article 2: Employers must guarantee at least work and pay conditions for posted workers, of the total employment contracts and normal employment contracts declared in federal laws, regulations of the Federal Council, generally binding within the meaning; minimal Swiss remuneration including surcharges.

Because Switzerland has a high salary level it expects that many employees from EU / EFTA are earning under the Swiss salary level and need a supplementary fee paid, the difference between their actual salary abroad and an adequate salary in Switzerland. According to Swiss law this fee has to be paid to everybody who works* in Switzerland, including only for a few hours.

Summary: Companies who use the Swiss notification system are requested to include the Swiss adequate salary at the notification. Employees who are not notified, because the Company sends people less than 8 days / year to Switzerland and is exempt from the notification system, still can be controlled to see if they get the adequate Swiss salary while working here.

*It is easier to define non work than work; non work situations are; attending a business meeting as a participant not a leader, taking part on a training in a classroom.
