Notification procedure for self-employed from UK or with UK passport

After the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union on 31 January 2020 and after the end of the transitional phase on 31 December 2020, the free movement of persons from the UK is no longer applicable. However, an agreement exists which allows service providers to be posted to Switzerland for a maximum of 90 days per calendar year by their company based in the UK and continue to use the notification procedure. This agreement is valid until 31 December 2025.

Self-employed persons based in the UK and with UK nationality are also covered by this agreement. The situation is different for self-employed persons based in the UK with EU/EFTA or third-country nationality. The notification procedure no longer applies for them. Likewise, it is no longer possible to register self-employed persons with an EU/EFTA domicile and a UK nationality.
